COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Penn State women's tennis team concluded play at the Buckeye Invitational. The Nittany Lions will compete in the ITA Regional Championships from Oct. 20 to Oct. 24.
Singles
Five members of the Blue and White participated in singles matches on the day.
Alina Lebedeva defeated Ellie Myers of Kentucky 7-5, 2-6, 6-4, making her 3-0 in singles matches during the tournament.
Karly Friedland fell to Gala Mesochoritou of Michigan 6-3, 6-1.
Olivia Dorner was unsuccessful in her match against Merri Kelly of Michigan. The match finished with a 6-0, 6-3 score.
Danielle Alamo lost her match to Makayla Mills of Kentucky 6-0, 6-0.
Yvonne Zuffova fought hard in a close match against Lidia Gonzalez of Kentucky. She ultimately was defeated with a match score of 5-7, 6-1, 6-3.
Doubles
The Nittany Lions only competed in one doubles match on the final day of the tournament.
Yvonne Zuffova and Olivia Dorner fell to Lidia Gonzalez and Makayla Mills of Kentucky 6-1.
