Men's Hockey to Host Inaugural Penn State Sled Hockey Classic on Saturday

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Sophomore Dylan Lugris (Buffalo, N.Y.) and the Penn State men's ice hockey team will scrimmage the Happy Valley Coyotes sled hockey team in a player organized/run charity event on Saturday, February 11 at 11:30 a.m. inside Pegula Ice Arena.

Doors will open at 11 a.m. and the game is free to the public with seating available in the Roar Zone. Donations are encouraged and can be made to the Coyotes GoFundMe Page.

Parking is available in the Shields and Stadium West lots for the hourly rate of $1 to be paid at the pay stations.

The teams will take the ice at approximately 11:30 a.m. and play a 20-minute exhibition. Following the conclusion of the game the teams will pose for a group photo on the ice before a meet & greet with fans on the concourse.

The Coyotes are a huge part of who we are as a team. They inspire us to work hard on and off the ice every day, no matter what adversity we face," commented Lugris. "We're truly blessed that we're able to put on this event and show them how much we appreciate and support them."

Last month Penn State auctioned off its 'Wear White' game worn jerseys with a portion of those proceeds being donated directly to the Coyotes, a program Penn State has had a growing relationship with since its inception in 2017.

Up for auction now is a custom Sidney Crosby version of the 'Wear White' jersey, signed by Crosby himself. The auction runs through Friday, February 10 at 8 p.m. with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Coyotes.
