No. 10 Women's Hockey Receives Three CHA Weekly Honors

WINTHROP, Mass. - The 10th-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions women's ice hockey team picked up three College Hockey America weekly awards on Monday. Kiara Zanon, Tessa Janecke, and Izzy Heminger each received a weekly award nod. 

Zanon was named Forward of the Week for the fourth time this season. During her play against Syracuse, she notched two goals and one assist for three points. One of her goals came short-handed in the second game of the series. Zanon currently leads the nation in goals with 23 alongside 22 assists for 45 points. 

Janecke was named Rookie of the Week for the sixth time this season. She tallied one goal and one assist as well as 19 faceoff wins in the circle. The Orangeville, Ill. native currently stands at 18 goals and 18 assists for 36 points. 

Heminger secured her fourth Defensive Player of the Week nod. She registered two assists and tallied a +7 plus/minus rating. On the year, she stands with three goals and 17 assists for 20 points. 

The Nittany Lions return to action on Friday, Feb. 17 when they travel to face RIT at 2 p.m.
