Penn State Swimming and Diving Concludes Weekend at Tri-Meet

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Penn State men's and women's swimming and diving team finished day two of the tri-meet against Notre Dame and Pitt. Penn State has shown some impressive swims to finish up their time in South Bend. 

Top Swims 
On the women's side, sophomore Morgan Moore was strong in the freestyle events today placing second in both the 500 free and the 100 free. In the 500 free, she posted a time 15 seconds faster than last meet (4:49.60). 

Senior Abby Henderson won the 400 IM with a time of 4:19.56 to win the first event for the Nittany Lions. She also touched second in the 200 IM. 

The other event winner for the meet was sophomore Catherine Meisner who finished first by one second in the 200 free (1:47.56). 

The men's team had two important top-three swims with sophomore Andrew Christensen placing third in the 1000 free, and freshman Sean Honey in the 200 IM. 

Top Dives 
Big Ten Freshman of the Week Abigail Ekstrom kept her streak going in the one-meter dive where she placed third (269.30).

Kailey Koval got in the top-three of the other event, the three-meter dive with her score of 277.60 to put her in third-place. 

Sophomore Hayden Elliott took third in the men's one-meter with an impressive score of 350.30. 

Relays 
Both of the women's relays were able to place in the top-three. The team of Ellie Brandbergh, Henderson, Carly Sebring and Cat Stanford touched third in the 200 medley relay (1:41.71), and the team of Stanford, Meisner, Marly Lough, and Maura Fluehr took third in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:22.40. 

The Nittany Lions will race next in the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, N.J. on November 30th.
