Mack Brady has been an important part of the Penn State soccer programs since the late 2000s when, at the tender age of five, he declared he wanted to someday be the Nittany Lions' goalkeeper. Tragically, Brady's dreams were cut short as he passed away from a blood infection on Dec. 31, 2012, almost two weeks short of his ninth birthday.

The clinic was set up just weeks after his untimely passing, with the help of Penn State coaches as well as current players and alumni. It was meant to coincide with his birthday (Jan. 16) in order to give other Penn State soccer fans his age the chance to enjoy the game he loved with the team he loved.

COACH COOK
Head men's soccer coach Jeff Cook said, "We look forward to hosting the Mack Brady Clinic in January. This is a very special event to open the new year and celebrate Mack's legacy and the ongoing impact that the Mack Brady Foundation makes on our soccer programs at Penn State. We are so grateful to the Brady family for their continued support, we are proud to welcome in 2024 with the Mack Brady Clinic!"

COACH DAMBACH
"Mack was a remarkable young boy whose love and passion for soccer was contagious," Penn State women's soccer head coach Erica Dambach said. "I can still see him in the stands at Jeffrey Field in his goalkeeper jersey cheering the men's and women's programs on to victory. The Mack Brady Clinic is a wonderful opportunity for our programs to interact with the kids in our community while celebrating Mack's life and incredible spirit which will live on through all of us."

The spirit of Mack Brady lives on through this clinic as well as a special 'Mack Brady Match' which is played each year by Penn State men's soccer in the Big Ten opener at Jeffrey Field. In the 2023 Mack Brady Match, The Nittany Lions earned a 1-0 victory over Maryland, marking their eighth win in the games' history and fourth in a row. Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year Peter Mangione's goal led the team to its second win in an eventual four-game win streak. Penn State men's soccer debuted its first ever throwback black and pink uniforms in honor of Penn State's original colors.

In accordance with NCAA guidelines, all Penn State University Sport Camps and Clinics are open to any and all entrants, limited only be specific number age, grade level and/or gender of its participants.
