Seven Penn State Field Hockey Players Earn NFHCA National All-Academic Honors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Seven members of the Penn State field hockey team were honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association as members of the 2023 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad. Head coach Lisa Bervinchak Love's crew is well represented among the field hockey nation's academic elite.

Sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, the NFHCA National Academic Squad program exalts the academic brilliance of undergraduate collegiate student-athletes. This prestigious acknowledgment is reserved for individuals who have achieved an outstanding cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester of the current academic year, nominated by their devoted NFHCA member coaches.

Representing Penn State on the illustrious list are graduate student Julienne van Bekkum, senior Carly Gannon, senior Sophia Gladieux, senior Gery Schnarrs, junior Anouk Knuvers, junior Julia Lamb and freshman Hannah Schreckengaust.

Three Nittany Lions (Gannon, Gladieux and Schnarrs) have earned the honor for the fourth time. Knuvers and Lamb have now been honored three times while van Bekkum and Schreckengaust have earned their first awards.
