No. 17 Women’s Lacrosse to Host Colorado for Pink Zone Game

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State women's lacrosse is set to face Colorado for their annual Pink Zone game Friday, Feb. 16 at Panzer Stadium. 
 
First draw between No. 17 Penn State and Colorado is set for 4 p.m. (ET).

Parking
Due to THON and other events taking place at the Bryce Jordan Center, Pegula Ice Arena and other nearby venues this weekend, parking and traffic adjustments will be in effect. To read more about the upcoming parking restrictions click here
 
Fans attending athletic events this weekend are encouraged to purchase their single game parking via ParkMobile for $5.50 through 11:59 p.m. the night before the event. For fans who have not prepaid and do not have a valid Penn State permit, parking will be $10 (cash only) on game day upon entrance to the lot. Hourly parking will also be available in the East Deck for $1 per hour.

Nittany Lions vs. Buffaloes
Friday will be the second all-time meeting between the two teams. Colorado defeated the Nittany Lions, 16-11 in 2017. 
 
Scouting the Buffaloes
Colorado head coach Ann Elliott Whidden is in her tenth season with the Buffaloes, compiling a 98-53 overall record. She led the team to an 11-8 season in 2023. The team lost to USC in the Pac-12 Championship last season. 
 
Transfer Eve Hritzuk made her debut with the Buffaloes, scoring six goals to help them win their season opener against Louisville, 16-15. 
 
Last Time Out
The Nittany Lions defeated Bucknell 22-8 at home Tuesday afternoon. Penn State outshot the Bison 44-17. 
Captains Kristin O'Neill and Kayla Abernathy led scoring with O'Neill scoring six goals and Abernathy scoring three. O'Neill reached 154 career points and Abernathy has 26 career goals. 
 
Preseason Nods
Penn State was ranked No. 14 in the USA Lacrosse preseason poll and No. 18 in the IWLCA preseason poll. In the Big Ten, the Nittany Lions were picked to finish seventh. 
 
Senior captain Kristin O'Neill was named a USA Lacrosse Preseason All-American third team and was an Inside Lacrosse Returning Player to Watch. She was also named a Big Ten Player to Watch along with junior Ellie Hollin and senior Sammy Dupcak

The Nittany Lions' return 29-of-33 players from their 2023 roster, including 12 players who appeared in every game last season. The 39-player roster features nine freshmen, eight sophomores, eight juniors, nine seniors and five graduate students.
