Former Nittany Lion Jenny Rizzo Helps U.S. Women’s National Field Hockey Team Qualifies for Summer Olympic Games

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.  – Former Penn State Nittany Lion field hockey player Jenny Rizzo helped the United States to a Silver Medal performance, qualifying the United States for the Paris games. Team USA punched its ticket to the '24 games with a 2-1, come-from-behind win over Japan in the semifinals of the Olympic Qualifier tournament last month. The U.S. went 4-1 overall, dropping a hard-fought 2-0 game to Germany in the Qualifier finals the next day.

Rizzo was a four-year letter winner at Penn State, starting in goal for the Nittany Lions. She earned All-Big Ten honors twice as a Penn Stater and was part of three NCAA tournament teams. Rizzo was also a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a two-time NFHCA National All-Academic Team member.

Field hockey at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic Games begins on Saturday, July 27 and runs through Friday, August 9. For more information on the United States Women's National Team, visit https://www.usafieldhockey.com/  .
