UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The United States Fencing Coaches Association recently announced the recipients of the 2025 All-Region awards. Penn State garnered six first team selections, two second team selections and three honorable mention awards.
In men's epee, Mohamed Yasseen earned first team honors while Tingwei Xu was named to the second team. In women’s epee, Allegra Cristofoletto and Kateryna Chorniy were named to the first team.
Tit Nam Cheng secured a spot on the second team in men's foil while Arwen Borowiak and Caiden Cannon received honorable mentions. On the women’s foil side, Nicole Capodicasa received an honorable mention.
For the saber squad, Neil Lilov earned a first team spot and Kamar Skeete was named to the second team on the men’s side. Eunyu Kim was recognized on the first team for the women.
The Penn State men's and women's fencing teams qualified 8 fencers out of a possible 12 for the 2025 NCAA National Championships. The NCAA Championships will be held in Multi-Sport Facility here at The Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pa from March 20-23.
The tournament will begin at 9 a.m. on March 20 with rounds 1-3 of men's epee. men's foil rounds 1-3 will begin at 11 a.m. and men's sabre rounds 1-3 will conclude the day at 1:30 p.m. On Friday, March 21, all three men’s weapons will continue with rounds 4-5 at 9 a.m. Semifinal and championship bouts will begin at 1:30 p.m.
The women will begin action on Saturday, March 22 with rounds 1-3 of women’s epee at 9 a.m. Women’s foil rounds 1-3 will begin at 11 a.m. and women’s sabre will conclude Saturday’s action starting at 1:30 p.m. On Sunday, March 23, all three women’s weapons will continue with rounds 4-5 at 9 a.m. Semifinal and championship bouts will begin at 1:30 p.m. Semifinal and championship bouts for all six weapons will be streamed on ESPN+.
