CORALVILLE, Iowa – No. 25 Penn State women’s gymnastics (9-6, 4-5 Big Ten) scored 195.475 team points and finished fourth in the third session of Big 4 competition, falling to No. 7 Michigan State (197.150), Iowa (196.125) and Washington (195.650) on Sunday evening in Xtream Arena.
Penn State finishes its 2025 Big Ten slate with a 4-5 conference record. The No. 3 Bruins of UCLA claimed the conference’s regular season title with an unblemished 9-0 record this season.
Without the services of top all-arounder Kalea McElligott on Sunday evening, the No. 25 Nittany Lions competed well as a team, fighting hard through the conclusion of the meet. The resilience of Penn State’s group showed through in all four events, although none more apparent than Isabella Salcedo’s career high-tying 9.875 on her first vault of the season in the very last routine of the evening for the Nittany Lions.
ROTATION RECAP
Penn State began its night on bars, securing a 48.975 team total on the apparatus in the first rotation of the night.
