2023-24 • SENIOR SEASON
Awards: Named HCA National Co-Goaltender of the Month… Named CHA Goaltender of the Week (12/5, 1/3) … Won CHA Goaltender of the Month (December).
Season: Spent 1265 minutes in the net for the Nittany Lions, playing in 22 games. Made 499 saves for a .911 save percentage this season.
at Northeastern (9/24): Made 29 saves in narrow 2-1 Penn State win to defeat the nationally ranked opponent. at Lindenwood (11/4): Recorded 26 saves in the dominant Penn State win, only allowing two opponent goals. Robert Morris (12/1): Completed her first shutout win of the season, recording 16 saves. at RIT (1/12): Recorded a shutout win on the road, completing 22 saves.
2022-23 • JUNIOR SEASON
Awards: Captured CHA Goaltender of the Month Award for November, December and January. Named CHA Goalie of the Week seven times. Put on the HCA Goalie of the Year watch list.
Season: Spent 2187 minutes in goal while recording 779 saves with a .923 save percentage. Broke her own Penn State single-season record with 26 wins. Finished year with 26-9-1 record.
No. 2/3 Wisconsin (9/22): Made 27 saves in Penn State's first win over a top-5 ranked team in program history. Franklin Pierce (10/23): Earned her 11th career shutout performance with a 6-0 win over the Ravens. Boston University (11/26): Tallied her third shutout win of the year. Syracuse (12/3-4): Earned her fourth shutout of the year recording 18 saves in the Friday sweep of the Orange... Stopped 15 shots on 18 attempted on Saturday in the first series sweep of Syracuse in program history. LIU (12/31): Added her first assist and point of the season with a contribution to forward Tessa Janecke's goal in the 4-1 victory. RIT (1/13): Made 14 of 16 saves to capture her 15th win of the season. at Mercyhurst (1/22): Captured her 50th career win against the Lakers in 5-2 victory. Lindenwood (1/27): Stopped 29 of 30 shots to contribute to the Nittany Lions 19th victory of the season, a program history record. at Syracuse (2/3): Recorded her fifth shutout victory of the season. at Syracuse (2/4): Made 18 saves on 19 shots to help clinch the CHA Regular Season Title. vs. Lindenwood (2/24): Stopped 18 of 19 shots in the opening game of the CHA Semifinals. vs. Mercyhurst (3/4): Captured her 26th win of the season, was named the CHA Tournament Most Valuable Player.
2021-22 • SOPHOMORE SEASON
Awards: Semifinalist for the HCA National Goaltender of the Year award...Named CHA Goalie of the Week seven times…Two-time CHA Goalie of the Month…Dubbed HCA National Goalie of the Month in December.
Season: Reset the record book in her second year with career highs across the board…In almost 2000 minutes in goal, made 632 saves with a .921 save percentage and 1.69 goals-against average…Set Penn State single-season records with 18 wins and seven shutouts…Finished year with 18-10-5 record after starting all 32 games…Named the HCA’s Co-National Goaltender of the Month in December 2021 after two record-setting shutouts.
Rankings: Ranked second nationally in total shutouts in a season...12th-best in the nation in GAA…Led the conference for most shutouts in a season…Placed third in the conference in save percentage and winning percentage.
Mercyhurst (10/30): Marked her first season shutout with a 3-0 win over the Lakers…Made nine of her total 14 saves in the third period to maintain the Nittany Lions’ sweep…Moved into second place for career shutout’s in program history with her fifth career shutout. at Syracuse (11/19): Recorded her sixth career shutout on Friday with 32 saves in 1-0 overtime victory. No. 7/6 Minnesota-Duluth (11/26): Saved 24 shots, including 11 in the third period in ranked win…Collected her 24th career win to tie then-program record. No. 2/2 Ohio State (11/27): Made 35 saves in close game against eventual national-champion Buckeyes. At New Hampshire (12/9-10): Set new program record with her 25th career victory in 3-0 shutout win with 23 saves…Followed up in game with with another shutout, the eighth of her career, to set another program record. Boston University (1/2): Earned her third shutout in four games after stopping 26 shots. Mercyhurst (1/28-29): Saved 22 shots on Friday, including 11 in the third period, in 2-1 win…Stopped 26 of 27 shots Saturday to complete weekend sweep of Lakers in 3-1 victory. Cornell (2/8): Moved into the conference’s top-10 career rankings with her ninth-career shutout. RIT (2/19): Tallied her 10th shutout performance with a 2-0 win over the Tigers.
2020-21 • FRESHMAN SEASON

Lindenwood (1/29): Became first Nittany lion netminder to earn shutout in first-career start behind 23 saves. Syracuse (12/5-6): Made 14 of her 21 saves in the first period to steady Penn State in 2-1 game-one win...Had another strong first period with 18 saves in game two...Made critical stop on Orange breakaway in overtime to preserve 2-2 comeback tie. at Syracuse (12/12): Stopped season-high 42 shots with at least 10 in each period. at Robert Morris (1/8): Blanked Colonials on all four power play chances in the game to swing momentum Nittany Lions' way in 2-1 win. Mercyhurst (1/23): Kept Lakers off the board for first two periods...Stopped seven shots on a game-changing five-minute penalty kill in second period to spark PSU's eventual 2-1 win. Robert Morris (2/5-6): Made 63 saves in statement series sweep...Started record shutout streak in game two victory with 24 saves in final period and a half. RIT (2/9): Picked up 12-save shutout win. at RIT (2/19-20): Set new Penn State season wins record with 14th victory in just 17th start...Earned third shutout of season in game one to clinch Nittany Lions first-ever CHA regular season title...Notched third-straight shutout victory in game two with 12 saves.
PRIOR TO PENN STATE
Played for girls' varsity program 2016-18 and boys' varsity team 2018-20 at Forest Lake Area High School…Won two All-Conference and All-Section awards 2016-17 and 2017-18…Helped Forest Lake to two conference titles, one section championship, and one state tournament appearance…Compiled 17 total shutouts for the Rangers…Posted a .952 save percentage in 2017-18 and was named Team MVP…Received All-Academic team honors all seasons…Played for the Minnesota Junior Whitecaps and won a 2019 NAHA Championship and a 2019 Tier 1 High School Elite League championship.
PERSONAL
Parents are Lisa Palmer-Bothun and Pete Bothun…Has three brothers, Jeff Bothun, Derrick Bruestle, and Riley Bruestle, and three sisters, Amy Bothun, Elsa Bruestle Shorey, and Sydney Bruestle…Sisters Elsa played hockey at Union and Sydney was on the track & field/cross country team at Michigan Tech…Brother, Derrick, played football at Augsburg…Double majoring in criminology and psychology.
