The main priority of our sport camp programs is the health, safety and well-being of our participants, student-athletes, coaches, and staff. 

All potential applicants to our youth residential programs are encouraged to regularly check our updated information and expectations, which may be subject to change.

INTRODUCTION

Penn State Women's Hockey is incredibly proud to call Pegula Ice Arena, the $90 million, state-of-the-art facility, its home. Pegula Ice Arena has some of the best amenities college hockey has to offer, from two ice surfaces to a weight room, hydrotherapy training room, steam room, team lounge and locker room area. Come experience Hockey Valley!

Online registration ends 2 days prior to the camp, unless the camp is full.

Elite Prospect Clinic, June 10-11
Grades 9-11

The Penn State Girls Ice Hockey Elite Prospect Clinic is designed to provide a high-quality teaching opportunity where players will get one-on-one instruction from the Penn State Coaching Staff.  Players will have full access to Penn State Women’s Ice Hockey facilities.  The clinic will be followed by a campus tour.  Enrollment is limited to ensure players get repetition of drills focused on skill development that will help carry them on their path to becoming an elite athlete. 
 
Enrollment is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
Grades 9-11: 32 skaters and 4 goalies

Features of the Elite Prospect Clinic:

  • Detailed individual instruction from Penn State Coaching Staff
  • Access to Penn State Women’s Ice Hockey facilities
  • Facility tour and campus tour
  • Sports Health staff available for instruction and all games

Fee:  $150 per camper (includes instruction, camp jersey, no housing)
***DAY CAMP ONLY/NO HOUSING

Meals:  NOT provided.  Bring a water bottle to refill during camp.  Water will be provided.


Girls Ice Hockey Two-Day Clinic, July 14-15
Grades 8-9

The Penn State Girls Ice Hockey Two-Day Clinic is designed for those looking to develop their skills both on and off the ice.  Emphasis will be placed on ice skill work, games, stick handling and other hockey concepts related to your overall hockey development. 
 
Enrollment is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Registration for each camp will be separate.  Each camper will receive one camp jersey if attending more than one camp in July.
Grades 8-9:  32 skaters and 4 goalies
 
Features of the Two-Day Clinic:

  • 3.5 hours of ice
  • Instruction from the Penn State Coaching Staff
  • Skating dynamics: Speed and quickness development
  • Skills development, puck control, passing and, shooting
  • Individual and team tactics: one-on-one, two-on-one, face-offs and more
  • Small area games
  • Penn State hockey camp jersey for each player
  • Sports Health Care staff available throughout the camp

 
Fee:  $100 (includes instruction, camp jersey, no housing)
***DAY CAMP ONLY/NO HOUSING

Meals:  NOT provided.  Bring a water bottle to refill during camp.  Water will be provided.


Girls & Boys Ice Hockey Clinic, July 16 and July 17
Grades 6-9

The Penn State Girls & Boys Ice Hockey Clinics are designed for those looking to develop their skills both on and off the ice.  The camp will run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. each evening.  Emphasis will be placed on ice skill work, games, stick handling and other hockey concepts related to your overall hockey development. 
 
Enrollment is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Registration for each camp will be separate.  Each camper will receive one camp jersey if attending more than one camp in July.
Grades 6-9:  32 skaters and 4 goalies
 
Features of the Clinic:

  • 2 hours of ice daily
  • Instruction from the Penn State Coaching Staff
  • Skating dynamics: Speed and quickness development
  • Skills development, puck control, passing and, shooting
  • Individual and team tactics: one-on-one, two-on-one, face-offs and more
  • Small area games
  • Penn State hockey camp jersey for each player
  • Sports Health Care staff available throughout the camp

 
Fee:  $50 per camp (includes instruction, camp jersey, no housing)

Girls & Boys Ice Hockey Two-Day Clinic, July 21-22
Grades 6-8

The Penn State Girls & Boys Ice Hockey Two-Day Clinic is designed for those looking to develop their skills both on and off the ice.  Emphasis will be placed on ice skill work, games, stick handling and other hockey concepts related to your overall hockey development.

Where: Pegula Ice Arena

Pegula Ice Arena is located on the corner of University Drive and Curtin Road. In case of inclement weather, you will be contacted by e-mail concerning any changes or cancellation.

Accommodations:

Participants are responsible for their own housing arrangements. A list of hotels, as well as additional information and maps, can be found here.


Goaltending Instruction
(Applies to all camps)
  • Additional goalie instruction (Goalies must wear throat protectors)


Camp Acceptance

Applications will be processed by position on a first-come, first-served basis until the session is filled. Because of the organization of the camp instructional program, it is necessary to accept applicants on the basis of age level and position played. For this reason, applications for certain positions and age levels will be closed out when those age levels and positions are filled.

Equipment for Camp

Campers should bring their own hockey sticks, skates, hockey padding, throat guards are recommended, helmet with face guard and mouth guard. Goalies must bring their own equipment (goalie pads and throat guard is mandatory). Personal equipment will NOT be shared. Also, campers should bring a water bottle to refill during camp.
