The main priority of our sport camp programs is the health, safety and well-being of our participants, student-athletes, coaches, and staff. 

All potential applicants to our youth residential programs are encouraged to regularly check our updated information and expectations, which may be subject to change.

INTRODUCTION

Penn State Women's Hockey is incredibly proud to call Pegula Ice Arena, the $90 million, state-of-the-art facility, its home. Pegula Ice Arena has some of the best amenities college hockey has to offer, from two ice surfaces to a weight room, hydrotherapy training room, steam room, team lounge and locker room area. Come experience Hockey Valley!

The Participant Form must be completed online two weeks prior to the first day of camp.

Elite Team Camp

August 26-27

Teams:  High School Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Club Teams

Grades 8-12:   4 Teams with a Maximum of 16 Skaters & 2 Goalies

The Penn State Girls Ice Hockey Elite Team Camp is designed to provide a unique opportunity to practice and scrimmage at Pegula Ice Rink, home of the Penn State Nittany Lions, with your teammates! Players will have full access to the Penn State Women’s ice hockey facility and will receive a campus/facility tour.

Enrollment is limited to 4 teams, so early registration is encouraged.

If only 3 teams register, they will receive an extra practice run by Penn State Women’s ice hockey staff instead of a second game. 

Features of the Elite Team Camp:

  • Two team practices & two games per team
    • One team practice run by the Penn State Coaching staff
  • Access to Penn State Women’s Ice Hockey facilities
  • Facility & Campus tour
  • Sports Health staff available for instruction and all games

Note:  Each team needs to wear their team uniform.
Note: Teams must bring a minimum of 12 skaters and maximum of 16 skaters plus 2 goalies.

 

Team Camp Registration - Coach/Team Representative

A coach/team representative must register online with a nonrefundable deposit of $400. The coach/team representative will receive a confirmation email.

    • Team roster is due two weeks prior to the start of the camp (August 12). 
    • Include all players and coaches on the roster.
    • NO roster additions after August 12.
  • Campers - Parents register campers using the personal team link provided by the Coach to ensure that their child is placed on the correct team.

Team Payment
The coach/team representative must register online with a nonrefundable deposit of $400.
The balance of the fee is due two weeks prior to the camp (August 12).
 
Team Fee:  includes instruction, games,  no housing                    

Team Camp - $1,000 per team

***DAY CAMP ONLY /NO HOUSING 

Meals:  Not provided.  Teams will be responsible for their own meals.  Water will be provided.
Note: We will have a few breaks during the camp. Please bring snacks to energize yourself and a water bottle to refill during camp.  

 

Coach/Team Representative:

Penn State is committed to providing a safe environment for all employees, students and visitors. We will provide trained staff to assist in making your experience at the event the best experience possible. Penn State Sport Camps are administered by Intercollegiate Athletics in accordance with University policy AD39 and NCAA rules and regulations. Clubs must obtain signed parental/legal guardian medical release forms authorizing the minors' participation in the event. All adults and minors attending Penn State Camps are participants of the camp as such; all participants must follow the instructions of the Penn State staff in complying with the rules and regulations of the event. Any violations of the rules or instructions of the Penn State staff may result in immediate dismissal from the event.

All adult participants are required to read and understand obligations for reporting child abuse witnessed or suspected during the course of participation in the camp at Penn State University. Adult participants, who willfully fail to report a case of suspected child abuse, will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. Adult participants are protected by Pennsylvania law and Penn State policy from discrimination for filing a good faith report of child abuse.

Where: Pegula Ice Arena

Pegula Ice Arena is located on the corner of University Drive and Curtin Road. In case of inclement weather, you will be contacted by e-mail concerning any changes or cancellation.

Accommodations:

Participants are responsible for their own housing arrangements. A list of hotels, as well as additional information and maps, can be found here.


Goaltending Instruction
(Applies to all camps)
  • Additional goalie instruction (Goalies must wear throat protectors)


Camp Acceptance

Applications will be processed by position on a first-come, first-served basis until the session is filled. Because of the organization of the camp instructional program, it is necessary to accept applicants on the basis of age level and position played. For this reason, applications for certain positions and age levels will be closed out when those age levels and positions are filled.

Equipment for Camp

Campers should bring their own hockey sticks, skates, hockey padding, throat guards are recommended, helmet with face guard and mouth guard. Goalies must bring their own equipment (goalie pads and throat guard is mandatory). Personal equipment will NOT be shared. Also, campers should bring a water bottle to refill during camp.
