Onyeaka joined the program through the open walk-on tryout process in October of 2012. Long, athletic and a tremendous leaper, the 6-5, 205-pound Onyeaka brings a hard-working, mature presence to the Penn State roster.
PREVIOUS COLLEGE EXPERIENCE
A two season starter and two-time team captain at the Penn State Mont Alto campus during the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons...Mont Alto is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) playing in the PSUAC Southern Division...he was one of teams leading scorers and rebounders during sophomore campaign...highlights from sophomore campaign include: 23 points and 10 rebounds vs. Penn State York; 21 points and nine rebounds vs. Penn College and 19 points and nine rebounds vs. Penn State Brandywine...highlights from the 2009-10 season include: 21 points and eight rebounds vs. York; 15 points and seven rebounds vs. Lancaster Bible; 12 points and 10 rebounds vs. Penn College and 11 points and eight rebounds vs. Dubois.
HIGH SCHOOL
A 2009 graduate of Central Dauphin East High School, he helped the Panthers win the 2009 district finals and advance to the second round of the state playoffs.

Born June 24, 1991 in Huntsville, Ala...the son of Samuel and Cathy Onyeaka...has three brothers: Kenny and Sam Onyeaka and Ben Nweze...his father played professional soccer in Nigeria...his brother, Sam, played college football at Grambling State...he is a telecommunications major.
