LION CAREER:
2013-14: Bak had another stand out year in his final year with the Nittany Lions. Bak finished 29-15 in collegiate action. Bak qualified for Nationals with his first place finish in men[apos]s saber at the Mid-Atlantic/South Regional. Bak fenced his way to a sixth overall finish at the NCAA Championships in men[apos]s saber.
2012-13: Bak served as the men[apos]s team captain this year, and fenced his way to a third place finish at the NCAA Championships. His third place finish gained him his third All-America status of his career. Bak qualified for Nationals with his fourth place finish at the Mid-Atlantic/South Regional. He finished the regular season with an impressive 21-8 record. The junior had three 3-0 performances against Harvard, Columbia, and Notre Dame. He finished in ninth place at the Garret Open.
2011-12: Bak finished a strong sophomore campaign with a 30-17 record to qualify for the Mid-Atlantic/South Regional. At the regional, he placed 3rd to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Bak defeated 14 opponents at the championships to place 6th and claim his second All-American status. Bak had a trio of 3-0 performances, coming against Notre Dame, Drew, and Haverford, respectively. He also had 2-1 performances against Harvard, North Carolina(twice), Duke(twice), St. John[apos]s, and Princeton. He went 2-0 against Brandeis. Bak placed 11th at the Garret Open, hosted by Penn State.
2010-11: In his first year of collegiate action for the Nittany Lions, Bak went 37-17 in the regular season and took seventh at the NCAA Championships earning himself All-American honors.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL:
Fencing for the Westbrook Foundation, in New York City, under Aki Spencer-El, Bak was a member of the 2008 USA World Championship team, placing ninth at World Championships. In addition, he earned himself the Junior National Championship title in 2010, a year after taking first in the Junior World Cup. Adrian is younger brother of former Penn State Fencer Daniel. Both Baks, were able to compete on the 1st Senior Team in 2010 earning a National Championship. Currently Bak is also a member of the USA Senior National traveling squad.
