Andrew Magera begins his third season as a volunteer assistant coach at Penn State in 2020-21. Magera, is pursuing a degree in telecommunications at Penn State. He has served as a skill development coach for Legend hockey since 2012.
The Sioux Falls, South Dakota transplant has also served as a main camp evaluator for the Sioux Falls Stampede and the Fargo Force of the United States Hockey League (USHL) from 2015-2018.
Magera has been either a head coach or assistant coach at various levels of youth hockey in the Sioux Falls Jr. Stampede AAA organization since 2015.
In 2017-18, Magera served as an assistant coach for the Idaho IceCats of the Western States Hockey League (WSHL) helping the team secure the Northwest Division Championship with a 44-3-3 overall record.
Magera married Sarah Quinlivan in the summer of 2019 and the couple currently reside in State College, Pennsylvania.
