Josh Wakeley was born on August 15, 1989 in Olney, Md. to David and Linda Wakeley...Has an older brother, John, a younger brother, Peter, and three younger sisters: Bethany, Hannah and Laura...Four uncles and two aunts attended Penn State, including one uncle, Scott Wakeley, who was on the swimming team from 1980-82, and an aunt, Marion Wakeley, who was on the swimming team from 1996-98...Father, David, swam collegiately at Bucknell...Majoring in biological engineering.

'I chose Penn State because of its great academics and swimming program and its familiarity to me. I have wanted to go to Penn State since I was a little kid.'
