2007-08: Matt competed primarily in the 100 freestyle and the 100 butterfly. He saw action in four meets last year. His highest finish was third place in the 100 butterfly against West Chester
High School: Earned four varsity letters in swimming at Upper Arlington High School in Columbus, Ohio....Team has a four-year dual record of 23-6 in his time on the team....Was a runner-up in the 2004 state meet as a freshman and as a sophomore in 2005....Team was named the Swimming World Magazine public high school national champions in 2005....Was a four-time All-American as a junior in the 200 medley and 200 free relay and in the 100 butterfly and 100 freestyle....Led his team to a third place finish at the state meet as a senior and swam on the state championship 200 free relay team....Was the recipient of the Upper Arlington Rotary Club Service Above Self Award.
Personal: Matt was born on July 29, 1988 in Columbus, Ohio....Is the son of Richard and Roberta Ann Edgin....Has an older sister, Jennifer (23), who played golf at the University of Dayton....Plans to major in pre-med and would like to go on to medical school....Lists fishing, camping and waterskiing as hobbies.
