[quote]2008 was certainly a special season for Penn State men[apos]s volleyball,[quote] said Dyer. [quote]The entire team and staff are looking forward to getting started in 2009 and we hope to continue to play at a very high level. We are pleased with the freshmen recruiting class and look forward to having the redshirt players from last season (Edgardo Goas, Will Price and Joe Sunder) see significant time on the floor.[quote]
In addition to his duties with the defending national champion Nittany Lions, Dyer has been active with USA Volleyball over the last two seasons. In the summer of 2008, Dyer served as an assistant coach for the United States Junior National Team that finished third at the NORCECA Championship in El Salvador and qualified for the 2009 World Championship. [quote]Craig was instrumental with our success last year as he provided key insight at various parts of the season,[quote] said head coach Mark Pavlik. [quote]He will continue with directing our offense. He continues to work hard at organizing our recruiting efforts and has gained outstanding experiences with USA volleyball in the summers. Craig provides another perspective through which to view our day-to-day efforts in the office and in the training gym.[quote]

Also an assistant coach for Rutgers for two years, Dyer led that squad as the interim head coach to a 4-3 record in Big East matches while the head coach was on maternity leave. During that time, he was responsible for scheduling, individual meetings and budget preparation in addition to practice planning and recruiting.
From 2000 to 2002, Dyer was the head men[apos]s volleyball coach at Susquehanna University, leading the team to a fifth place finish at the NIRSA National Club Championships in 2001 and a ninth place finish in 2002. Also during the 2001 season Dyer acted as the assistant coach for the Hempfield High School boy[apos]s volleyball squad, aiding the team, including current Penn State players Jay Stauffer and Jon Sherrick during their state championship run. An active camp clinician, Dyer has worked both the Penn State men[apos]s and women[apos]s summer camps along with aiding at Seton Hall, Rutgers, Illinois, Towson, Delaware and the USA Volleyball High Performance try-outs.
