Daryl Green joined Penn State Cheerleading as the assistant coach in Fall 2022. He brings 16 years of coaching experience to the Nittany Lions. Prior to his time at Penn State, Green served as the head competitive coach at McDowell High School (2020-22), associate head competitive cheer coach at Gannon University (2018-20) and head coach at Tabor College (2015-18).
In his time at McDowell, Green won two PIAA State Championships and one National Championship. At Gannon, his teams were able to secure multiple top five finishes in both the small coed, game day, and all-girl divisions at the National Cheerleaders Association College Nationals. While with Tabor, Green developed a competitive program that culminated with consecutive third place conference finishes. In 2026-17 his team placed fourth at the NAIA regional competition before finishing 18th nationally. During the 2017-18 season, Green led the team to a runner-up finish at the NAIA regional competition and an 11th place finish at the NAIA national championship. He was selected Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year by his peers in 2017-18.
In addition to his coaching career, he has worked with Kansas Wesleyan University, Bethany (W.Va.) College, Brock (Ontario) University, and many others as a competition choreographer. His impressive resume includes eight years as an instructor for the Universal Cheerleaders Association from 2007-15, including the last five years as a head instructor. He has assisted camps and clinics around the USA, China, Australia, and Canada.
Green was a four-year standout cheerleader at the University of Kansas from 2009-13 and a part of multiple top 5 finishes at UCA College Nationals. He was nominated twice for the UCA Veteran of the Year award. Green graduated from the University of Kansas in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in sports science with an emphasis in exercise science. He earned a master’s from Gannon University in 2021 in applied exercise science.
