UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Nittany Lions shot 314 in the first round of the Lady Northern Invitational, the first home tournament of the season.
Freshman Brianna Malcolmson shot three-over 75 to lead the Nittany Lions going into round two. Senior Sara Lester completed round one only three strokes behind Malcolmson with a score of six-over 78. Sophomore Katherine Murphy was close behind with a score of 79.
Kent State finished round on in first place with a score of 287. Individually, Kent State's Kira Meixner is in first place with an impressive first round score of 66.
The second round of the Lady Northern will take place Saturday afternoon and the final round will be held Sunday morning.
