UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - With the Big Ten Championship just around the corner, the Penn State men's golf team will make one final regular-season stop at the Hawkeye-Great River Entertainment Invitational. The Nittany Lions will meet an 11-team field at the 7,180-yard, par-72 Finkbine Golf Course for the two-day, 54-hole event, April 14-15.
In addition to Penn State, host Iowa will welcome four other Big Ten teams including Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska and Wisconsin as well as Iowa State, Charlotte, UMKC, Washington State and Miami (Ohio).
Out for the Nittany Lions this weekend are senior Tommy McDonagh (East Norwalk, Conn.), juniors Anthony DeGol (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) and Jay Woodward (Bridgeport, W.Va.), and freshmen Xander McDonald-Smith (Rockaway Park, N.Y.) and Jens Talbert(Little Rock, Ark.).
Competition will consist of 36 holes Saturday and 18 on Sunday. Both days will begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.
