LEWISBURG, Pa. --
The Penn State track & field team won five individual event titles Sunday at the Bucknell Classic at the Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. The Nittany Lions took the top spot in both the men's and women's shot put with first-place finishes from Rachel Fatherly (Williamsport, Pa.) and Darrell Hill (Philadelphia, Pa.).

Fatherly won the women's shot put with her toss of 50-4.50 and placed second in the women's hammer throw (178-5). On the men's side, Hill won the shot put with his mark of 64-8.50.

Annjulie Vester (Homburg, Germany) won her first event title as a Nittany Lion. In her outdoor season debut, Vester set the No. 6 mark (181-10) in school history en route to a first-place finish in the women's hammer throw.

Also setting a Penn State record book performance, freshman Obeng Marfo (Ontario, Canada) recorded a personal-best distance of 48-11.50 to place second in the women's shot put. Marfo's performance Sunday in the women's shot put moved her into tenth all-time in the Penn State record books.

The duo of Lexi Masterson (Jeannette, Pa.) and Kasey Kemp (Irwin, Pa.) finished third and fourth, respectively, in the women's pole vault. Masterson cleared 12-8.25 and Kemp posted an outdoor season personal-best height of 12-2.50. A week after cracking the Penn State top-10 list, Kemp moved into sole possession of ninth-place.

Along with the three event titles in the field, the Nittany Lions won a pair of events on the track.

Penn State grabbed the top two spots in the women's 100-meter hurdles. Shelley Black (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.) won the race with her time of 14.08, followed by Quenee Dale (Ypsilanti, Mich.) in second (14.17); Black also finished third in the women's 400-meter hurdles (1:00.91).

The women's 200-meter dash featured three Nittany Lions in the top-five. Senior Dynasty McGee (Flint, Mich.) won the event with her outdoor personal-best time of 24.11. Along with McGee, Deja Davis (Shelby Charter Township, Mich.) and Megan Osborne (Chillicothe, Ohio) finished fourth (24.50) and fifth (24.52), respectively.

On the track for the Penn State men, freshman Xavier Smith (Douglassville, Pa.) placed third in the 200-meter dash (21.73) and Robert Rhodes (Brooklyn, N.Y.) posted a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter dash with his time of 48.33.

The Nittany Lions recorded second- and sixth-place finishes from Steve Waithe (Parkville, Md.) and Bryce Williams (State College, Pa.) in the men's triple jump; Waithe tallied a distance of 50-4 and Williams posted a jump of 48-0.75.

Patrick Anderson (Kane, Pa.) cleared a personal-best height of 15-9 en route to a fifth-place finish in the men's pole vault.

Also at the Bucknell Classic, a trio of Nittany Lions recorded first-place finishes competing unattached.

Kiah Seymour (Washington, D.C.) won the women's 400-meter hurdles (59.48), Brian Leap (Bellwood, Pa.) won the men's triple jump (51-6.25) and Malik Moffett (Erie, Pa.) finished first in the men's 200-meter dash (21.24). Moffett also finished second in the 100-meter dash (10.80).

Dylan Bilka (Seven Fields, Pa.) rounded out the unattached Nittany Lion contingent with his fourth-place finish in the men's pole vault (15-9).

Penn State will compete Saturday at the LSU Alumni Gold meet in Baton Rouge, La., and they will also head back to Lewisburg, Pa., for the Bucknell Team Challenge.
