Track and Field To Host Officials Clinic in Conjunction With Blue, White Meet

Dec. 9, 2015

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - With the first week of the Penn State 2016 indoor track & field season quickly approaching, the Nittany Lion track & field teams will get the ball rolling with the annual Blue & White Meet this weekend Saturday, December 12, while also hosting an Officials Clinic in conjunction with the intrasquad meet.

The officials' clinic is open to all interested individuals (no experience necessary), free to attend, and will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, at the Multi-Sport Facility on campus.

SafeSport training will be the main focus, as it is required by USATF to be a certified official.

There will also be electronic measuring set up within the throws events to give perspective officials a glimpse at some of the latest technology used today in collegiate and professional track & field.

After the clinic, Penn State will host the blue & white meet where all officials in attendance will be able to experience the feel of being in a meet setting.

Interested individuals should contact Laura Loht, Penn State track & field Director of Operations, at lel5115@psu.edu.
