UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Leading up to its 2017 season, the Penn State men's lacrosse team has announced it will take part in a single fall scrimmage this year.
The Nittany Lions will take to the road on October 15 to the campus of high school powerhouse Boys' Latin School for a neutral site game against the Tigers of Towson University. The first faceoff is set for 1 p.m.
Admission to the event is free. All fans in the area are encouraged to come out and cheer on Penn State.
The 2017 team returns a host of players from the year prior including eight players who started each game of the 2016 season. Among the familiar names are last year's goals leader in senior Nick Aponte and the team's assists and points leader in sophomore Grant Ament. Penn State's primary defensive trio of Mike Aronow, Peter Triolo and Chris Sabia all return along with last season's primary goalkeeper Will Schreiner.
The Nittany Lions will look to continuing its positive offensive trend in 2017, as the team scored nearly three more goals per game in 2016 from 2015.
