UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - With Opening Day just three weeks away, Penn State baseball had its first team practice Friday evening in Holuba Hall.
After first stretching out on the football practice fields, the team went into the warm and sunny confines of Holuba to play a full intrasquad scrimmage.
Penn State baseball will open its 2016 season Feb. 17-19 at No. 1 TCU. The team returns its entire starting pitching rotation and five starters to its lineup. Penn State went 28-27 in 2016 for its best record since 2012.
Prior to the scrimmage, head coach Rob Cooper, seniors Christian Helsel and Dakota Forsyth, and junior Sal Biasi spoke with the media in the video above about starting team practices and their goals for the season.
