UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men will take their turn at the Big Ten Swimming & Diving Championships beginning with a pair of relays Wednesday. The four-day meet will be hosted by Ohio State in McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. ET Wednesday with the timed finals of the 200-yard medley relay and 800-yard freestyle relay. Preliminary heats will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with the finals scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. each night.
COVERAGE
 All sessions will be streamed live via BTN Plus on BTN2Go. The Big Ten Network will also televise Saturday's finals Sunday at 10:30 a.m. ET. Complimentary access to BTN2Go is available to viewers connected to the internet network of a Big Ten university. Fans elsewhere can sign up for the pay-per-view webcasts.

 All Session Passes are on sale. Fans will be able to purchase by either visiting www.ticketmaster.com, by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000, or in person at the Athletic Ticket Office located in the Schottenstein Center.
THE MEET
 Senior Shane Ryan is looking to lead the Nittany Lions in his final Big Ten Championships. The 2014 Big Ten Championships Swimmer of the Meet enters the 2017 edition as the conference leader in the 100 backstroke (45.75), as well as a top-eight performer four other events: the 100 free (2nd, 42.49), 50 free (7th, 19.68), 200 free (7th, 1:35.75) and 200 back (8th, 1:45.55). He also ranks ninth in the 100 fly (47.24).
The Nittany Lions will face some of the toughest competition in the country as three conference teams enter the event as members of the TYR/CSCAA Top 25. Indiana leads the conference ranking fourth and is followed by No. 7 Michigan, No. 18 Ohio State and No. 22 Wisconsin.
Penn State is looking to improve on a ninth-place finish last season. Michigan won its sixth consecutive Big Ten Men's Swimming & Diving Championship last season. Indiana finished second and was followed by Ohio State, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
B1G CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
 In all PSU has recorded five top-five finishes all stretching from 1998-2002. The Nittany Lions won the Big Ten Championship in 1999.
FREESTYLE
 Ryan leads Penn State in all three sprint freestyle races, while JP Cervone and Matt Stasiunas both own NCAA B-cut times in the 200 free. Cervone also leads the Lions in the distance races with season-bests of 4:24.83 in the 500 and 15:37.85 in the 1650 freestyle.
BREASTSTROKE
 Kaelan Freund, who won the Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor following his last four outings, leads the Lions in both breaststroke events entering the meet. His bests of 54.75 in the 100 and 1:59.65 in the 200 rank just inside the Top 16. Sophomore Gunther Cassell ranks 20th in the 200 breast at 2:00.48.
BACKSTROKE
 Ryan leads the Nittany Lions in his signature event, but is not only one capable of scoring in the meet. Freshman Liam Veregin ranks inside the Top 20 for both the 100 (48.75) and 200 (1:46.94) backs, while Tomer Zamir ransk 17th in the 100 (48.52).
BUTTERFLY
 Following Ryan in the 100 butterfly is Andy Schuehler with a season-best of 49.28. Sterg Dikos will look to break into scoring territory as he leads in the 200 with a top time of 1:49.10.
INDIVIDUAL MEDLEY
 Freund also leads the 200 IM with a season-best 1:49.89, while Robbie Dickson's 4:01.16 leads the Lions in the 400 IM.
DIVING
 Penn State's trio of Hector Garcia Boissier, Jack Crow and Connor Scanlon have all qualified for the NCAA Zone Regionals and will look to impact the scoring at Big Tens. Garcia and Crow advanced to the NCAA Championships last season and will look to continue their success. Garcia has twice been named the Big Ten Diver of the Week this season, including after his last outing when he set a personal best of 405.15 in the 1-meter.
