Big Ten Release
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State field hockey junior back Cori Conley (Oak Park, Ill.) was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
This marks the first time in her career that Conley has earned Big Ten weekly honors for the Nittany Lions.
Conley played every minute that Penn State played this weekend as the Nittany Lions posted two wins to improve to 10-2, 3-1 on the season.
Conley scored her first career goal in the win over Kent State and helped the Nittany Lions shut out Michigan State on the road, the fifth shutout of the season.
This is the first Penn State Defensive Player of the Week accolade since Rizzo earned the accolades on Sept. 5, 2017.
Penn State hits the road for a two-game tilt against Ohio State Fri. at 3 p.m. followed by a Saturday matchup against California in Columbus, Ohio at 12 p.m.
