UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's tennis team will host No. 39 Western Michigan Friday, March 2 at 5 p.m. in the Indoor Tennis Center. The team will be looking to rebound following a tough loss to Ohio State, 7-0.
The Nittany Lions are now 5-5 on the season, and 0-1 in the Big Ten. The team still remains undefeated at home with a 3-0 record. The Western Michigan Broncos are 11-2 on the season. This is the first time in Penn State men's tennis program history the teams will face each other.
"This is an important match for us because we need to get back home and impart some of what we learned on the road to our opponents coming up," said head coach Jeff Zinn. "We need to learn from losses and figure out how in the next few matches we are going to get better and compete better. This is a big match against a quality opponent who is ranked high in the country."
Looking ahead, the Lions will once again hit the road as they travel to Orlando, Fla. Penn State will take on UCF Wednesday, March 7 at 6 p.m. and Georgia State Friday, March 9 at 1 p.m.
