Good evening, and thanks for joining us this evening. We hope to provide answers to as many questions as possible this evening, and based on the preliminary submission of questions, we will not likely be able to get to all of your questions this evening, so we plan to host additional sessions within the next couple of weeks. As an ongoing reminder and in the event we do not get to your question tonight, we would encourage you to call the Athletics Customer Relations Center during business hours at 1-800-NITTANY (648-8269). We will make every attempt to answer your question on the spot or put you in touch with who can. Let's get started with tonight's first question:

State College PA: If I contribute the additional donation, will I keep the same seats?

ANSWER: Yes. Other than those being forced to relocate, the first option is for current season ticket holders to provide the new 2011 donation levels and remain in their current seats.
Shawn: I am being forced to move my seats due to visitor section being moved. I am curious how & when I can request my new seats. Will I be able to request an area (South End Zone Upper Deck) select a specific section (SJU) or will I actually be able to pick where I would like my 4 seats. I realize that points in the NLC will have a determining factor. When requesting new location, when do I make this request and how do I make this request?

ANSWER: Thanks, Shawn. Very good question that applies to many season ticket holders. All 2010 season ticket holders will be receiving specific information in late June about how to go about registering your 2011 seating intentions. As a specific answer to your question, you will be able to view the stadium online and see the specific seating areas that will be available to all of those being relocated in 2011. You will be selecting specific seats in the November/December timeframe.
Erie PA: My seats are in section WA. I desire to make a transfer of them to a friend with significantly lower points. We like our seats but due to the fact we need to be reseated to shift the student sections, which point total applies to the selection process and how will it work?

ANSWER: Unfortunately, those whose seats are being forced to relocate, due to students, visiting team or ADA, are not permitted to transfer their seats at this time. However they (you) will have an opportunity to participate in the new select selection process next fall and transfer the new seats location after the 2011 season.
George (York): I currently have seats in the upper deck of the south endzone. I wish to remain in that "zone" under STEP but would like to move to a lower row. When I declare my intentions, do I declare that I would like to remain in my same seats since I'm not changing zones or is this considered an upgrade? Which seat selection group will I be in? The current literature does not address this specific situation. Thanks

ANSWER: All season ticket holders will be receiving specific information in late June about how to go about registering your 2011 seating intentions. As a specific answer to your question, George, you and others who want to move within your current seating zone or section will register your intent to UPGRADE. All season ticket holders will need to let us know what they want to do for 2011 by September 1, 2010.
Camp Hill, PA: How will the "online seat selection process" work? Will this be similar to the way ticketmaster "holds" seats for a couple of minutes during your search of available seats?

ANSWER: Complete instructions and details for the 2011 seat selections will be distributed to all 2010 Nittany Lion Club members and season ticket holders, but in broad terms, yes, you will have the ability to go in and review all available seats that you qualify for at your selection time. If you want to "hold" seats while you look at others, you will be able to do so, but on a very limited time frame. That exact amount of time has not yet been finalized.
John (Berlin, PA): #1 - If I choose to relocate to a section with a lower annual seat donation than my current location requires, will I be able to select my new seats or will they by chosen by you. #2 - If a Parent elects not to transfer seats by your required deadline and they die after the date, what happens to those seats?

ANSWER: #1 - You'll choose the location, John, based upon seats available in the section you want at the time you are assigned to select. This is a significant change to prior years. The Athletic Ticket Office will no longer assign seats; season ticket holders will be selecting.

#2 - In that unfortunate circumstance, the tickets would revert back to Penn State Athletics, just as happened annually leading up to the Transfer Option.
Brian (Reedsville): We transferred all the tickets out of my dad's account. He still would like to keep his points active for bowl games and away games. How much will he have to donate a year to keep his points active?

ANSWER: The minimum annual donation for active accounts to receive any 2011 NLC benefits will be is $100.
Rob Knoneborg. (Southampton) pa: When do football tickets go on sale

ANSWER: If your question pertains to single game tickets, Rob, that is typically scheduled for late July. However, we are trying to move that earlier in July, so a final date has not been set. We will be sure to communicate the date as soon as solidified.
Gerry: Does the football program sustain all PSU sports programs? If so, why aren't steps being taken to have the other sports increase revenue to offload the excessive burden being thrust upon the Football fans

ANSWER: The only two varsity programs that currently provide a net return on annual operating costs are football and men's basketball. Our efforts to grow revenues in the other sports are ongoing, whether through ticket revenues or other means, but the potential upside of these sports is limited and pales in comparison to what football provides. Thanks for your question, Gerry.
Naperville, Illinois: I was graduated 4 days ago. How do I proceed to purchase season tickets for next season and for 2011 and beyond?

ANSWER: Congratulations! Rather than a lengthy step-by-step here, please call our Athletics Customer Relations Center at 1-800-NITTANY (648-8269), and we will be glad to get you the information you need on Nittany Lion Club membership and season ticket applications. The information is also accessible via the Nittany Lion Club section of GoPSUsports.com. We wish you and all of your graduating classmates the very best, and will look forward to seeing you back this Fall.
Terry (East Stroudsburg): Does the transferree have to be a NLC member prior to the transfer?

ANSWER:Yes, the transferee needs to be a 2010 NLC member to qualify for the transfer (minimum $50). Membership can be sent with your transfer form or can be submitted online https://secure.ddar.psu.edu/nlclub/ no later than June 30, 2010.
Vicki (Lancaster): My current seats are located in a section that is not effect by STEP program (no change is donation amount and not loosing seats to the student section or visiting team). I do not want to change my seats. I have 99 NLC points and based on what I've read, I think that seat relocations will be done based on NLC points. What are the chances of me being able to keep my current seats?

ANSWER: Very Good. Only those whose seats are in a section being affected by the relocation of the student's seats, visiting team seats or ADA seats, and being forced to move, they are the only group that will not be allowed to retain their current seats. Everyone else will have the right to retain their current seats, if they are willing to make the required NLC donation. In July, you should declare that you wish to retain your current seats and pay the associated NLC donation.
jim: If you are staying in the same price range, the $400 dollar one for example, can you request better seats than you already have within that section, or if by requesting that do you relinquish the seats you have in that section, and face the possibility your seats will be worse?

ANSWER: If you would like to orchestrate movement within your current color zone that would be considered an upgrade. Therefore, you will have the opportunity to upgrade your seats within your current section, or better, without giving up your current seats. In your situation by upgrading you will look at available Red and Black zone tickets.
John Szkaradnik-Collegeville: If I decide to pay the higher donation amount, will I be able to see the seat location of the tickets before paying. If I don't like the location, can I change back to the $100 level.

ANSWER: You will be required to donate the per seat donation for your current seats by Feb. 1, 2011. If you select a new seat during the seat location process which requires a higher per seat donation, the difference will be required at the time of your new seat selection.
Robert (Allentown): What is the timeline for NLC members for (seat transfers)if they are part of the mandatory relocation for example section WA. I am being relocated but might want to transfer my seats. Thank you

ANSWER: All season ticket holders forced to relocate for the 2011 season will have a limited opportunity to transfer your seats following the 2011 season.
Michael Moyer (Pittsburgh): If I decide to give up my current location and move to the $100 per seat location, how does the priority work for selecting new seats? If I have more points than someone who currently has seats in the $100 seat sections, can I displace them?

ANSWER: Not in the scenario you describe, Michael. Those who chose to participate at the new donation levels and want to remain in their 2010 locations will have priority to do so. You can certainly choose to go to a lower-priced zone, and you will chose from the available seats at the time you are assigned to select. Those selection times will reflect NLC point order. Thanks for your question- a very important one for all to understand.
Mike (York): We are being forced to relocate due to the move of the visitor section to the north end zone upper deck. What kind of equivalent seating can we expect to choose from?

ANSWER: Your question is a very popular one, Mike, so thanks for writing in. We will have a number of seating options for all fans being displaced, and as previously outlined, all displaced season ticket holders will be selecting a new location before other seating changes. The seat selection will occur online, and you will be able to view those seats that are available. Unfortunately, we all have a different definition of "equivalent," but there will be seats in multiple zones made available.
Jim/Elysburg: I've heard it stated that this will prevent ticket increases, but for how long? You will always need more and more money.

ANSWER: The current plan does call for the season ticket per game price to remain at $55 through the 2010 and 2011 seasons, Jim. And you are correct, as much as we would like to guarantee a long-term freeze on prices, we cannot responsibly do so.
John - hershey: Who gets to pick the seats in Student sections?

ANSWER: Appreciate your question, John. Rather than a lengthy answer at this time, please note that this will be fully explained in the materials that you and all season ticket holders will receive in late June.
Kevin, Mooreville: Why should football fans pay to support other sports, isn't that what we pay state taxes for?

ANSWER: Penn State Athletics receives no tax dollars for any varsity program. This is commonly misunderstood, but is also the primary reason that we must responsibly seek new ways to financially support our broad-based program. Additionally, central to the Athletic Department mission is to remain self-supporting from University funding.

West Chester, PA: What is happening to the open seats from non renewals for the 2010 season?

ANSWER: We do not anticipate significant available seats for 2010 based on a season ticket renewal rate already exceeding 92%. Additionally, we have more than 3,000 new Nittany Lion Club members that are eligible to purchase season tickets as well as over 500 members who requested season tickets last year.
Jon (Harrisburg, PA): Currently my donation for 4 tickets in NB is $400. I am concerned about increasing my donation, for 2011 do I have to pay a $400 donation for 4 tickets + $100 per seat = $800?

ANSWER: No, your donation for 2011 will not increase and will remain at a minimum of $400 (4 X $100 per seat).
Kevin, Massyburg: Who can we call if our questions aren't answered tonight?

ANSWER: You have several options, Kevin. We would encourage you to call the Athletics Customer Relations Center at 1-800-NITTANY. If a personal appointment would serve you better, we would be glad to schedule that as well. The other option is to attend one of our upcoming STEP seminars in Hershey or Philadelphia. You can get more information on both by clicking here.
Bob (Clifton Park NY): I have almost 500 point and a reserved parking space and 4 seat in the upper deck of the north end zone. What are my chances of getting seats in the Black zone.

ANSWER: While we cannot answer your question definitively, Bob, all those looking to upgrade will have the opportunity to view all available seats at the time of your assigned seat selection. You will be able to do so without releasing your current seats.
Annie (State College): If I am currently an Honorary Coach giving ($2200) and I have 4 tickets in the Black zone (EEU) I understand that my donation for tickets will be $2400, do I have to pay an additional $2500. donation for reserved parking?

ANSWER: Yes, the donation for your 2011 tickets is $2400. To retain your reserved parking benefit you can remain an Honorary Coach for a total donation encompassing both tickets and reserved parking at a minimum of $2500
John (Berlin, PA): Are their any seats available in the Club section and if so how would I transfer my seats there?

ANSWER: The first round of renewals for Club Seats is currently underway. This could possibly create openings. Please note that the Club is not impacted or related to the STEP Program. Please contact the Club Seat Office at 814-863-3143.

We thank everyone for participating this evening. In our efforts to address the maximum number of questions, we will schedule an additional online chat. The exact date and time will be announced at GoPSUsports.com in the coming days.
