Eight From Men's Hockey Named AHCA/Krampade Division I All-American Scholars

BOSTON, Mass. – Eight members of the 2020-21 Penn State men's hockey team were each honored by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) as Krampade Division I All-American Scholars in the fifth year of the award's existence as announced earlier this week.

Recent graduate Alex Stevens (Plymouth, Minn.) joined rising sophomores Christian Berger (St. Louis, Mo.), Chase McLane (Trenton, Mich.), Tyler Paquette (Collegeville, Pa.), Christian Sarlo (Lynnbrook, N.Y.) and Liam Souliere (Brampton, Ontario) as first time honorees in 2020-21 while Aarne Talvitie (Espoo, Finland) and rising senior Oskar Autio (Espoo, Finland) each earned their second consecutive AHCA academic honor.

Due to the effects of Covid-19, the AHCA adopted revised criteria for this year's honorees. To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained at least a 3.6 GPA for each semester, regardless of whether the school's hockey team was able to play this season or not.

The eight members are tied for the second most in the Big Ten with Minnesota only behind Michigan State's 12 honorees.
