Neil Lilov Places 7th at October NAC

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's and women's fencing teams sent 10 fencers to compete at the October North American Cup (NAC). This month's NAC took place in Orlando, Fla. at the Orange County Convention Center and spanned from Oct. 26-29. This was the first NAC/Olympic qualifying tournament of the fall season. 
 
Sophomore Neil Lilov finished in the top 8 in men's sabre by placing 7th out of 210 fencers. Kamar Skeete came in 62ndplace with Nico Pope in 92nd. In women's sabre, with 149 participants, Ola Strzalkowski came in 25th place with Aurora Colter in 144th .
 
Out of 248 total fencers competing in men's foil, Aidan Johnson led Penn State's foilists by finishing in 26th place. Spencer Burke followed close behind coming in at 28th place with Yaroslav Muruhin in 66th and Donavyn Martinez in 186th place. 
 
The lone Penn State representative competing in men's epee at the October NAC, Devin Tafoya, came in 76th place.

Next up, select Penn State fencers will travel to Fort Worth, Texas to compete in the November NAC from Nov. 10-13, 2023.
