The standing is the men’s group’s highest mark since its 11th-overall mark at the end of the 2018 season. The Nittany Lion men feature four top-ten marks in the NCAA, headlined by freshman sprinter Ajani Dwyer’s No. 4 mark in the 60m and No. 7 mark in the 200m.
Hayley Kitching and Darius Smallwood collected Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week honors for the women’s and men’s teams, respectively, this past week thanks to their record-setting performances at the Penn State National Open. Kitching lowered her own 800m school record while Smallwood put together an incredible 600m-800m double, running top-three times in school history in both events as his 600m time slotted in as the tenth-fastest in collegiate history.
