COLUMBUS, Ohio- The No. 60 Penn State men's tennis team fell to No. 3 Ohio State on the road. The Nittany Lions put up a tough fight, but ultimately dropped their match, 5-2, to the Buckeyes.
DOUBLES
Charl Morgan and David Lindsay took the first spot facing Aidan Kim, Will Jansen, but the Nittany Lion duo ultimately fell 6-1. At third doubles, Reiya Hattori and Marcus Schoeman faced Bryce Nakashima, Alex Fuchs, but dropped their match 6-2.
On Court 2, Sam Bossem and Loren Byers led Brandon Carpico, Nikita Filin 4-3 when the match went unfinished as Ohio State had already claimed the doubles point.
SINGLES
At the top spot, Byers took down No. 10 ranked Kim in a strong played 7-5, 6-4 match.
At sixth singles, Lindsay defeated Reece Yakubov in a powerful 6-2, 7-5 match.
At second singles, Morgan fought tough, taking his second set to a tiebreak, but fell to No. 50 ranked Alexander Bernard 6-2, 7-6(2). Bossem took on No. 75 Jack Anthrop on the third court, dropping his match 6-0, 6-1. On Court 4, Schoeman took on Nakashima, but fell 6-4, 6-2. Hattori played against Chris Li at the fifth spot, but dropped his match 6-2, 6-4.
UP NEXT
The Nittany Lions will travel to the West Coast to take on new Big Ten members, Washington and Oregon. The Blue and White will face Washington on Friday, March 14 at 8 p.m. ET in Seattle, Wash., and then Oregon on Sunday, March 16 at noon in Eugene, Ore.
