JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Penn State track and field teams concluded the 2025 NCAA East Regional Preliminaries with three additional individual qualifiers who punched their tickets to the 2025 NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. as prelims wrapped up Saturday.
NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIERS
Florence Caron became the sole double qualifier to the national championships for Penn State in both the women’s 5,000 and 10,000-meter races. Caron ran the 5,000-meter race on the final day of the East Regionals, finishing in 15:27.05 to punch her second ticket to Oregon and break the school record, which she previously set earlier in the outdoor season.
Maddie Ullom punched the first ticket to the NCAA National Championships in her collegiate career in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing in 9:54.42 to set a new personal record and improve upon her No. 3 all-time mark in program history.
Maddie Pitts qualified for the NCAA Championships in the heptathlon. Pitts ranked No. 7 in the east region and No. 19 in the country with a season-best 5,677 points during the Big Ten Outdoor Championships.
ADDITIONAL EVENT PERFORMANCES
The women's field events came to a finish as Hannah Riolo recorded a 1.74m (5-8 ½) jump in the high jump.
Allison Dougherty finished the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:33.48.
Zoey Goldstein finished the 400-meter race quarterfinals in 53.45.
UP NEXT
The outdoor track and field season will conclude with the 2025 NCAA Championships on June 11–14 in Eugene, Ore., where five individual qualifiers and one relay team will compete.
