A transfer from ECAC rival St. John[apos]s, Devin Madden comes to Penn State for his final two years of collegiate lacrosse after earning two letters at SJU. Madden[apos]s experience gives him a real opportunity to have a positive effect on Penn State[apos]s midfield efforts this year.
COLLEGIATE CAREER:
Madden was a two-year starter for the Red Storm. During his time in Jamaica, he earned ECAC Honor Roll honors and was the ECAC Rookie of the Week once. As a freshman, he played in 11 games and had a .523 face-off percentage. He scored one goal and had 71 ground balls as well. Last year, Madden played in nine games and had a .602 face-off percentage.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL:
Madden was featured in Inside Lacrosse as one of the country[apos]s top face-off freshmen while at Georgetown Prep. He recorded a .760 face-off percentage as a senior at Georgetown Prep and averaged 10 ground balls per game. Madden also lettered in football. He is the son of Michael and Patricia Madden and has two siblings, brother Colin and sister Kerry. Madden plans on majoring in political science at Penn State. Son of Mike and Patricia Madden. He has a brother, Colin, and a sister, Kerry. Devin is a political science major.
COACHES VIEW:
'Devin is an experienced face-off specialist who is expected to replace Greg Gurenlian. If he stays healthy, he could vie for an All-ECAC honor.'
