LION CAREER:
2009: Gannett played in 10 games as a true freshman in 2009 and had two ground balls. Over the year, he developed into a very good close defense reserve as well.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL:
Gannett played high school lacrosse at Downingtown East High School in Downingtown, Pa. He was a High School All-American defenseman in 2008. A senior captain for his squad, Gannett was a four-time all-league player, he had a tryout for the U.S.[apos]s U19 squad. Alex is the son of Dave Gannett and Marianne Laidlaw. His brother, Chris, lettered for Penn State as well.
COACHES VIEW:
'Saw key time last spring as a MDD defender, but should develop into a strong close defender. Alex has good take away ability, and ability to get the ball on the ground, but must become tougher in the hands-on aspects of defense. Alex has great potential, if he improves his overall conditioning he could be a regular.'
