UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's tennis team will send team members to the Big Ten Singles Tournament and the Collegiate Clay Court Invitational this weekend, Nov. 3-5. The Big Ten Singles Tournament will be held in Madison, Wisc. The USTA Clay Court Invitational is hosted at Disney by Florida State in Orlando, Fla.
Matt Barry(Lido Beach, N.Y.), Guanhua Chen(DaLian, China), C.J. Griffin(Portland, Mich.), Ramy Labna(Doha, Qatar), and Chris Young(Melbourne, Australia) will travel to Madison for Big Ten Singles.
The freshman, Matt Barry, has eight wins on the year, including one at the ITA Atlantic Regional. Guanhua Chen has a pair of wins this fall. The senior, C.J. Griffin, has five wins this fall, including one at the regional and an appearance in the consolation semifinal at the Tennessee Invitational.
Ramy Labna has also earned five wins on the season. Chris Young has won six matches this fall, including a first round win at the ITA Atlantic Regional.
Russell Bader(Austin, Texas), Tomas Hanzlik(Prague, Czech Republic), Roman Trkulja(Toronto, Canada), and Bryan Welnetz(Laredo, Texas) will head to Orlando.
Junior Russell Bader has a record of 4-2 this fall and picked up a win at the ITA Atlantic Regional. Tomas Hanzlik also has four wins this fall, with an impressive performance at the Ranked+1 Invitational, where he advanced to the draw final.
The freshman, Roman Trkulja, has won two matches this fall. Bryan Welnetz has a record of 6-2, including a pair of wins at the ITA Atlantic Regional.
