COLUMBUS, Oh. - March 22, 2015
COLUMBUS, Oh. - The 2015 NCAA Fencing Championships have officially come to an end. Penn State closed out the season as a team overall at 2nd place. As a whole, this was an incredible feat for a team with only 11 qualified fencers competing this weekend out of the possible 12.
Freshman Karen Chang (Hong Kong) and sophomore Teodora Kakhiani (Tbilisi, Georgia) faced off against one another in the semifinals for the women's saber competition. Chang managed to edge above Kakhiani, and took herself to the finals where she fell to Notre Dame. Chang brought home silver for the Nittany Lions while Kakhiani brought home bronze.
Sophomore Jessie Radanovich (Fresno, Calif.) finished 5th in her event of women's epee.
Junior Clarisse Luminet (Lyon, France) locked in at 6th place in the women's foil competition while senior Alina Antokhina (Moscow, Russia) wrapped up her career as a Nittany Lion in 14th.
