MTEN: Lions Host Brown This Weekend

March 3, 2017 - UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; The Penn State men's tennis team is set to host their ninth home match in a row this Saturday, March 4 at 9:00 a.m. against the Brown University Bears. The match will be held in the Indoor Tennis Center.

So far this season the blue and white has seen success from several players. Seniors Marc Collado (Barcelona, Spain), Aws Laaribi (Rye, N.Y.), and Nika Dolidze (Tbilisi, Georgia) have been strong veterans for the Lions so far boasting 4-1, 4-1, and 3-0 singles results, respectively. Newcomers Gabriel Nemeth (Brasilia, Brazil) and Christian Lakoseljac (King City, Ontario, Canada) have also been assets this season with Nemeth posting an undefeated 3-0 singles record and Lakoseljac posting 5-3.

Nika Dolidze has also helped Penn State this year in doubles, with a 4-0 record while playing with several different partners. Sophomores Ben Lieb (Newtown Square, Pa.) and Henry Gordon (New Braunfels, Tx.) have been successful in doubles as well with respective 2-0 and 4-1 records for the spring so far.

Penn State's next match will be on Wednesday, March 8 when the Lions travel to Lake Nona, Fla. to take on the University of Central Florida at the USTA National Campus in a College MatchDay event. Festivities will begin on the day of the match at 4:00 p.m. with an alumni tailgate with the match beginning at 6:00 p.m. The match will be televised on ESPN3.
