Nittany Lions in the NFL: Week 14

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – A total of 45 Penn State football alumni are populating the rosters of 26 National Football League organizations. The Nittany Lions annually rank among the top 20 programs nationally in producing players in the NFL.

Jaquan Brisker recorded 17 total tackles in the Bears' win over the Lions. The massive total is the highest number of tackles recorded by a defensive back this season. Ji'Ayir Brown also made a splash on defense, recording the second interception of his rookie campaign. On offense, Parker Washington caught a touchdown pass in his second-straight game. Additionally, Saquon Barkley scored a pair of touchdowns himself in the Giants' win on Monday night.

After adding another sack this week, Micah Parsons is tied for fourth in the NFL with 14 tackles for loss and is eighth in the league with 12.5 sacks through week 14 of the NFL season.

This week, kicker Robbie Gould officially announced his retirement from the NFL following an 18-year career in the league, the longest NFL tenure of any Nittany Lion in league history. Gould, a first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honoree, finished his professional career with 1,961 points scored, the 10th-most all-time. He completed his career with 447 made field goals on 517 attempts, converting at an 86.5 percent clip, the ninth-best career mark since 1938. Gould will go down as one of the greatest and most successful kickers in the history of the NFL.

Each week throughout the year, GoPSUSports.com provides updates on the feats of these former Nittany Lion greats.
