Austin Johnson posts first career interception in Week 8 action

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – A total of 47 Penn State Football alumni are populating the rosters of 24 National Football League organizations. The Nittany Lions annually rank among the top 20 programs nationally in producing players in the NFL.

Saquon Barkley continued his excellent start to the season with another 100-yard rushing performance. Barkley posted 108 yards on 22 carries, upping his season rushing total to 766 yards, the second-highest total in the NFL. Mike Gesicki caught seven passes for 73 yards, leading the Bengals' receiving corps. Fellow tight end Brenton Strange posted a five-catch, 59-yard performance for Jacksonville.

Defensively, Bills defensive tackle Austin Johnson recorded his first NFL interception on a tipped ball at the line of scrimmage. Cardinals punter Blake Gillikin continued his excellent campaign with a 53.3 yards-per-punt average against the Dolphins. He currently ranks tenth in the NFL in net punting average with a 43.1 mark.
