Nittany Lions in the NFL: Week 14

Barkley sets Eagles’ single-season rushing record, Gross-Matos posts three sacks

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – A total of 47 Penn State Football alumni are populating the rosters of 25 National Football League organizations. The Nittany Lions annually rank among the top 20 programs nationally in producing players in the NFL.

Saquon Barkley continued his dominant first season as a Philadelphia Eagle by adding 124 rushing yards to tally onto his NFL-leading total Sunday. In just 13 games, Barkley has amassed 1,623 rushing yards, becoming the new single season rushing yards leader for the Eagles, surpassing LeSean McCoy’s previous top mark of 1,607 yards in 2013. Still with four games remaining, Barkley is 377 yards away from becoming the ninth player in NFL history to record 2,000 rushing yards in a season.
