UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – As opening weekend of the National Football League approaches, 47 Penn State Football alums populate the rosters of 25 National Football League organizations.
Entering the 2026 season, Penn State has the 10th-most active players among FBS schools.
Penn State is one of three schools to produce at least five picks in each of the last nine NFL drafts and has 67 selections since 2016.
Eleven members of the 2025 Penn State team are on NFL rosters: Kaytron Allen (Washington Commanders), Dominic DeLuca (Baltimore Ravens, practice squad), Dani Dennis-Sutton (Green Bay Packers), Khalil Dinkins (San Francisco 49ers, practice squad), Zane Durant (Buffalo Bills, injured reserve), Olaivavega Ioane (Baltimore Ravens), Trebor Peña (Jacksonville Jaguars, practice squad), Nolan Rucci (Indianapolis Colts, practice squad), Drew Shelton (Dallas Cowboys), Nicholas Singleton (Tennessee Titans) and Zakee Wheatley (Carolina Panthers).
The Pittsburgh Steelers have the most Nittany Lions with four each. The Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers each have three former Nittany Lions.
Additionally, three Penn State alums are serving on NFL coaching staffs: Al Golden (Cincinnati Bengals, Defensive Coordinator), Bobby Engram (Washington Commanders, Wide Receivers) and Trace McSorley (Buffalo Bills, Offensive Assistant).
