No. 25 Women’s Lacrosse Continues Road Trip at No. 8 Loyola

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - No. 25 Penn State women's lacrosse will play their second away game of the season at No. 8 Loyola on Saturday, March 2 at 12 p.m. at Ridley Athletic Complex.

Nittany Lions vs. Greyhounds
The Nittany Lions are 4-8 in the all-time series against the Greyhounds. Penn State has been on a five-game losing streak since 2018. The last time they met in 2023, Loyola defeated Penn State 7-11 at Panzer Stadium. 
 
Scouting the Greyhounds
The Greyhounds are 3-0 on the season. They opened with three straight wins against Florida (18-10), American (15-5), and Johns Hopkins (17-14). Junior attacker Georgia Latch is leading the team with 13 goals on the season. Following closely behind her are Chase Boyle and Sydni Black with 12 and 11 goals respectively.
 
Last Time Out
Penn State fell to Drexel 10-8 on Wednesday afternoon at Vidas Field. Meghan Murray led the scoring effort with three goals, her eighth career hat trick. Payton Wainman notched two assists in the game and leads the team with six assists on the season.
 
Preseason Nods
Penn State was ranked No. 14 in the USA Lacrosse preseason poll and No. 18 in the IWLCA preseason poll. In the Big Ten, the Nittany Lions were picked to finish seventh. 
 
Senior captain Kristin O'Neill was named a USA Lacrosse Preseason All-American third team and was an Inside Lacrosse Returning Player to Watch. She was also named a Big Ten Player to Watch along with junior Ellie Hollin and senior Sammy Dupcak
 
Most recently O'Neill was named to the prestigious Tawaaraton Watch List for the third consecutive season.

The Nittany Lions' return 29-of-33 players from their 2023 roster, including 12 players who appeared in every game last season. The 39-player roster features nine freshmen, eight sophomores, eight juniors, nine seniors and five graduate students.
